Hill Cottage Farm Caravan & Camping Park near Fordingbridge
Hill Cottage Farm Caravan & Camping Park sits on the Hampshire–Dorset border at Sandleheath Road, Alderholt, a short distance from Fordingbridge. The family-owned site covers around 40 acres of countryside and lies roughly five minutes’ drive from the edge of the New Forest National Park. Alderholt village, with its shop, post office and pub, is about a 20-minute walk through woodland.
The park caters for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes (generally up to 8 metres). Fully serviced hardstanding pitches are generous in size and screened by hedges for privacy; each has smart-metered electricity, water and grey-water drainage.
Grass electric pitches and grass pitches with hardstanding bases are also available. Guests pay only for the electricity they use. A shepherd’s hut sleeping up to three, plus self-catering lodges, provide alternatives to traditional camping.

There is a children’s play area, free coarse fishing on two stocked lakes (licence required), and a perimeter dog walk with access to neighbouring woodland for off-lead exercise. Dogs are welcome.
The location suits both short stays and longer breaks. Ringwood Forest cycle tracks are a few minutes away, and the wider New Forest, Salisbury, the Jurassic Coast and Moors Valley Country Park are all within easy reach. Open fires are not permitted, but raised gas or charcoal barbecues are allowed.
The site opens on a seasonal basis, typically from late February or early March through to the end of October or early November. It has a strong visitor rating and was named Best Caravan Park for South East England in the 2025 Campsites.co.uk awards, as well as featuring in the organisation’s 2026 shortlist of recommended sites.
For visitors looking for a well-kept base near Fordingbridge with private pitches and straightforward access to the New Forest, Hill Cottage Farm offers a clear, practical option.
